CTA - FMCSA: US Drug And Alcohol Clearinghouse Webinar (September 5, 2019)

0%
The new US Drug and Alcohol Clearing House is a secure online database that will give employers, FMCSA, State Driver Licensing Agencies, and State law enforcement personnel real-time information about CDL driver drug and alcohol program violations. In general, carrier will be required to report drug and alcohol violations and check that no current or prospective employee is prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions, such as operating a commercial vehicle, due to a drug and alcohol program violation for which a driver has not successfully completed a Return-To-Duty (RTD) process.
Canadian carriers should note that if they operate into the United States, they will be required to register and comply with these new requirements. As it stands, registration will open this fall and the rule will come into full effect in January 2020.

In preparation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has agreed to host a second webinar with the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) to ensure carriers are prepared. This event is being held free of charge and is only open to members of a provincial trucking association within the CTA federation (BCTA, AMTA, STA, MTA, OTA, QTA, APTA).
